Cynthia is a stay at home mom who has been married for twelve years and has five children. The children range in age from six months to fifteen years old. Two of the children are adopted and three are her biological children. Cynthia is a product of a blended family and she has experienced divorce and remarriage first hand.

Prior to becoming a stay at home mom with the birth of her fifth child and only daughter, Cynthia owned and operated a licensed daycare facility from her home, graduated from college summa cum laude with a degree in Liberal Studies majoring in linguistics. She has begun working on her master’s degree in special education and was trained by the National Institute of Learning Disabilities as an Educational Therapist to work with children who struggle with moderate to severe learning disabilities.

In addition to writing for Suite101 Cynthia is also the “Valley Mom” columnist for the SFV News and the Early Childhood editor at Bellaonline.com. She also enjoys “blogging” at her personal website.

Cynthia and her family reside in sunny southern California where you can find her on any given day, loving and teaching her children, running her home, and working on her lifetime love of writing.
